News: 5 days agoSabally (reconditioning) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against the Fever, Madeline Kenney of the New York Post reports.
Spin: Sabally will sit out Saturday's preseason opener as the Liberty ramp her up for game action. The star forward's final chance to play in the preseason will come against Connecticut on May 3.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Sabally spent the first six years of her WNBA career with Dallas before being traded to Phoenix in January of 2025. She saw her playing time dip significantly this past season (26.6 minutes per game) compared to 2024 (34.1), but she still averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 threes across 39 regular-season games in 2025. Sabally has had some issues with injuries over the last couple of years, including a concussion that prevented her from playing in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against the Aces, but she's expected to be ready for the start of the 2026 campaign. Sabally was an unrestricted free agent during the offseason and elected to join the Liberty, where she'll be part of a talented frontcourt that includes Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones.
